Program Overview

Founded in 1976, Casa Teresa provides a transformational, comprehensive program for homeless, pregnant women age 18 and older who are alone.  Located in Orange, California, Casa Teresa is home to more than 60 mothers and their babies each year.  Additionally, referrals or one-time counseling is provided to over four hundred women annually.

Casa Teresa offers three separate residential programs: The Parenting Program, the Adoption Program “Hannah’s House”, and the Transition Program for Single Mothers.  Casa Teresa is open to all homeless, pregnant women in need regardless of religion, nationality, race, background, or any other factor.

Program Description

Casa Teresa provides an array of services, counseling and educational programs that prepare these women to make loving and informed life decisions for themselves and their babies.

Casa Teresa provides low cost housing within the budget of each woman’s income from either a job or government assistance.  Residents are required to enroll in school or find employment.  No woman is turned away for lack of funds and residents who have no income and are ineligible for government assistance are provided a home and services by Casa Teresa through grant funding and private donations.

Last year, Casa Teresa was home to 74 women, and celebrated the birth of 75 healthy babies!  15 of these babies were placed with adoptive parents.  More than 2,200 pregnant women have made their home with us during the past 30 years.

We offer three separate residential programs: The Parenting Program, the Adoption Program “Hannah’s House” and the Transition Program for Single Mothers.
