The Parenting Program

The Parenting Program is designed for pregnant women who have decided to parent their babies and need to become self-sufficient in order to do so.  Located in the main facility, the Parenting Program provides a home for up to 16 women and 5 babies at a time.  When first entering the program, residents share a room with another pregnant woman.  Just before delivery, each woman is given a private room where she can remain for up to two months after the birth of her baby.   At that time, she will either graduate from the program, or apply to move into the Transition Program for Single Mothers.

The women participating in the Parenting Program find a loving and nurturing, yet highly structured environment where they can begin to address their barriers towards self-sufficiency.  Women entering the program are given assistance in the following areas: individual and group counseling, vocational and educational counseling and guidance, mental health screening, assessment and counseling, on-site perinatal healthcare.
