Entrance Requirements for the Parenting and Adoption Programs

In an effort to provide a safe environment for all of its residents, Casa Teresa has implemented the following requirements and guidelines for admittance:

  • 18 years of age or older.
  • Drug and alcohol free for the previous six months. Prospective residents must also agree to remain so for the duration of their stay.
  • Documentation of a negative TB test.
  • Proof of pregnancy.
  • No other children may be currently residing with prospective resident.

On meeting the above requirements, a prospective resident may visit Casa Teresa for an interview to decide if the program offered will fulfill her needs.

Upon being welcomed into the program, all new residents must enroll in school, become employed, or actively volunteer in the community, thus acquiring the skills necessary to obtain a stable life upon graduating from the program. Each woman will share a room and will be responsible for meals and upkeep of the house.

These requirements help to promote a healthy setting for all our residents and their babies, and to provide a safe and successful experience for everyone involved.
